Hi, I'm Jeff Yang, FSA, founder of IBNR.net.

Over my decade-long career as a healthcare actuary, I have certified numerous Statements of Actuarial Opinion, several specializing in IBNR estimation. In 2022, I shifted my focus to building consumer products, and created The Actuarial Nexus and Actuarial Exam Pass Rates - platforms now utilized daily by the actuarial community.

Having worked with different IBNR models at four different organizations, I found that many of the methods and procedures to develop reserves could benefit from more automation and standardization. While each organization faces unique challenges, the underlying calculations for setting reserves remain consistent.
